India is the largest peninsula in the world and surrounded by The Indian ocean on
two sides and the Arabian Sea on one. It has one of the longest coastlines on the planet, broken sporadically by its countless rivers and lakes.

In time however, we overlooked the waterways and instead developed an intricate network of roads to improve connectivity.

India boasts a dense network of river systems, creeks, estuaries and canals, totaling to approximately 14,500 kilometres of inland waterways. But only a tiny percentage of goods and passenger traffic take advantage of these waterways despite it being the most effective and economical method for carrying heavy and bulky material, both inland and in the oceans.
